Peter Zamaria

Peter ("Pete") Zamaria of Acworth, GA peacefully went to be with his Lord on March 22, 2022, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Pete was born on May 13, 1958, in Stroudsburg, PA. His family returned to Erie, PA, shortly after his birth where he was raised until his family moved to North Carolina in 1969. His parents moved to Marietta, Georgia in 1973, where he met the love of his life and his soul mate, Deborah Stamper Zamaria. Peter retired from Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in 2020 after 31 years of service. After retiring, he enjoyed his favorite pastimes, fishing and riding his motorcycle.

Pete was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Mary Zamaria. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Debbie, his daughter Shonda Webb (Donny), his sister Gail Hollingsworth (Larry), two grandsons, Dillon Carder (Lupe), and Jacob Webb, Debbie's sister, Kathy Whitaker (Kenny), Debbie's brothers David Stamper (Roxanne), and Danny Stamper (Sharnee), as well as many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Pete also leaves behind his best fur friends, Chelsea and Max.

The family is honoring Pete's wishes that there will be no memorial service or Celebration of his life. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital - Pete Zamaria Memorial Fund or the American Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
