How do we reconcile ourselves to the heartbreaking reality that our beloved Petra is no longer physically with us? For months now, we have tried to prepare ourselves for this inevitability, but it was Petra herself, with her good humor, with her courage and absolute lack of self-pity, who made us believe that we still have more time, that the void we have in our hearts today might be put off at least a little while longer.

Dear Augie and family, I am saddened to hear about the passing of our loving Petra. I wanted to say thank you for sharing her as beautifully as you all did for many years! Since I was a very young girl growing up in Santa Paula and attending the 12th Street church where I believe most had the pleasure of her presence....she always..........gave so much of herself as a young woman who had her husband and children, yet she never turned away from giving of her time to the Lords work and all...

So sad news to hear of Petra's passing. You are now in the presence of your lord who you loved with all your heart Jesus Christ. I send my deepest condolences to Augie and the rest of the family.
