Not sure what to say?

Always thinking of you mom. Always loving you.

We miss you mom. Right from the time when I became a part of your family, coming to New Orleans was like coming home to me; my own parents being at the other end of the world. You were an anchor to all of us. I remember most fondly our early morning chats, when over tea, eggs and toast, we would talk about everything from Julia Child to politics to the latest book you had read. And I remember the holiday feasts you make single handedly. I will miss most of all, the reassurance you provided...

We loved you mom and will miss your advice and memories. Fortunately you were a devoted story teller and I have been able to pass many of these stories to your grandchildren. My best memories were from our countless road trips together which just kept getting better and more adventurous as the years passed. You will never be forgotten. Jessie

My condolences to you and your family. May she rest in peace.

My condolences to you and your family, Tom. I know it's a great loss not only to you but to the entire city of New Orleans. Phebe has contributed so much to the future of New Orleans.

Love you always, mom.

As one of the founders of STAIR, Penny was dedicated to bringing the joy of reading to young children, especially those at-risk children who had limited access to books at school and in their homes. She helped design and revise the STAIR reading curriculum, and was the guiding light of our participation in the PRIME TIME Family Reading Program implemented by the LA Endowment for the Humanities. Thank you, Penny, for your inspiration and guidance.
