Philip Earle Abrams

I have a very fond memory of Earle. I met him in 1970, when I was a teenager. Earle was my piano teacher for a few years. No -- Earle was much more than a piano teacher. He taught me music -- reading, writing, theory, arranging, improvising and composing. Earle's lessons were perfect, and perfectly balanced. Earle gave me all the tools to start becoming a composer, which I have continued to this day. He was a truly fantastic teacher. I am forever indebted to him. I will never forget Earle.
