Not sure what to say?

I saw the article of Phil's passing in the Suburbanite and I just felt so sad to hear the news. Phil was a few years ahead of me in school but we played ball in the same league. He was a feared hitter and a team leader. VERY much admired. I remember him whacking many line drives to the outfield. Phil, rest in peace. Your left a positive impact on family and friends and acquaintances.

I just found out today that Philip passed on. I have wonderful memories of him from elementary to high school. I lost touch w/ all that I did graduate with, but knowing him since my childhood & knowing how fantastic a person he was then truly upsets that he didn't win his battle. My prayers go out to his wife & children. I am very sorry..

Phil was such a good friend to my brother, Paul, may they both rest in peace. To all who Phil has left behind, may the blessings and memories Phil shared with you during his life, help to keep you strong as you continue to live your lives. Phil will not be forgotten.

Dear Anthony and family:
I'm sorry for losing your dad,but just know that you didn't lose him because he is with God.
Just know that your friends are still with you, even if we're in different schools now. We miss you.

Mateo and Trevor

To the Apreda family: I am a 1980 THS graduate and received an email on Friday about Phil's passing. While I only saw Phil at reunions over the past few years, I recall him well from our time at school (and even earlier when we played little league together). I think of him as a big but gentle man; a guy who was competitive yet fair. I hope that you take strength from your family and friends during this difficult time. With profound sympathy, Ben Indek (NYC)

I would like to extend my condolences to the entire Apreda family. May God be with you in your time of grief.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
(Mary Frye)
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not...

I appreciate the opportunity to share my condolences with the entire Apreda family. Philip embodied a kind and gentle spirit and was always quick to share a smile. My prayer is that the period of mourning will be short, that our hearts will be comforted, and that our remembrance of Philip will last forever.

Unfortunately, I just heard of Phil's passing this afternoon. As the District Administrator for Little League District 6 NJ, I had the pleasure of watching Phil coach (and win) many times. It was a truly enjoyable experience. His knowledge of the game and the way he treated his players was exceptional. On behalf of all of us in District 6, our heartfelt sympathies go out to Phil's family and friends. As far as I'm concerned, we not only lost a great coach and a great man, we lost a true...
