Not sure what to say?

Jackie, I apologize for being so tardy in posting my condolences to you and my thoughts about Phil. I remember Phil from those wonderful days in the San Diego FBI office in the 1970s. As a Special Agent, Phil was terrific with his sense of always having an answer in tough situations. Indeed, he was highly respected and valued by his fellow agents. As a good friend, I enjoyed Phil as a fellow golfer, avid UK sports fan, and fun-loving good guy. Jackie, you two were a perfect...

Jackie, It's been seven years since I moved out of Louiville and visited with Phil. I was shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. He was my golf partner in many events but he was my friend in everyday of my life. We spent many hours in your basement golf shop reparing or making clubs, although I know the real reason we were down there was to have a drink and share some stories together. I have so many fond memories of Phil and think of him often. My thoughts and prayers are with you at...

Jackie, Thank you for getting Phil to be my patient at the dental office. I was nervous at first even though I had 24 years of dental experience when I first saw him. I was warned by you and the others to not take him too seriously he really was a warm, nice guy under the rough exterior he presented. I think things went well and he came in regularly afterwards. I was able to know him him better this last year and I looked forward to seeing his name on my schedule for the day. He always...

Ms. Austin - I never got to meet you but, I believe I was one of the first school board attorneys to "meet" Phil just after he started with OEA in 1990. Even though I represent those that Phil and his office investigated, Phil and I shared a mutual respect for each other. Phil was always straight forward, to the point and able to cut to the bottom line in a funny way that none other could. I respected Phil because he always let me know where he stood on matters and you always knew that he...

I met Phil in the Fall of 2000 but never had the chance to visit a school district with him for OEA. I can understand why so many people thought so much of him. He was a real person and someone I feel fortunate to have known if only for a short while.

Jackie, we were all very surprised to learn of Phil's passing. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. If you need anything call me or come by. Phil was such a great help when Jeff had his back surgery. Please let me help you in anyway I can.

Phil and I worked together at OEA for 14 years. We shared so many good times, laughs and memories that I will always cherish.
Should've have known that Phil would have been the one keeping count on the number of marriages, divorces, deaths, births, and affairs that brought us all together in what now seems like such a short, but memorial time here at OEA.
In Phil's love for golden retrievers, he rescused 2 lovely dogs in Long Run Park and had them groomed and vet checked before...

Jackie: These entries say it all. Despite the sometimes gruff exterior he loved to portray, he was gold inside. He touched us all in different ways. Even my little girls saw through it and loved to go visit him in his office and see what crazy things he would do.

I had the pleasure of being his final "partner in crime". Working for Phil was challenging, interesting, but always fun. He was truly dedicated to his job and the law and loved what he did. Phil was fond of saying, "Can...

Jackie, my heart goes out to you at this difficult time. Phil was a wonderful person to work with and I considered him a friend. He was a true gentleman even though he wanted you to think the opposite. I loved that about him. God bless you and your family.
