Not sure what to say?

My dear Marilyn, How sad we are to learn of Phil's passing. Always cheerful, always helpful, always a Boy Scout! My husband, David, who is an Eagle Scout, and I always admired the commitment Phil made to scouting and know that he made a difference in countless lives. God bless all of you always, and give you peace. With love, Sheri & David Mount

Dear Marilyn,

Judy and I are sorry to hear of your loss and wish to express our sympathy to you at this difficult time. Phil was a big influence in my life. The adventures with the Rainbow Troop and our monumental 8,000 mile journey around the US and Canada to attend the Jamboree were events I'll always remember. Phil will be missed. He had a big and positive influence on many. We will all miss him and share your loss.

Dear Marilyn,
One summer day when my son was about seven, we stopped in a sporting goods shop in Agoura. My son was facinated by a tall man who was stringing a tennis racket. Of course that man was Phil. We got to talking and eventually my son, Dane, took tennis lessons from Phil. In the course of our conversations it came out that Phil had sponsored my brother, Don Freers, in his successful quest for Eagle Scout, when we all lived in Westchester. The world really is a small...

Mr. Bailey,
You were one most influential people in my life. I joined Troop 485 when I was 11 years old. You were the reason I kept with scouting through Eagle. You encouraged me to branch out my scouting career -- from camp counselor at Emerald Bay to Boatswain of Sea Scout Ship 16 “The Islander”. These are some of the things I’ll always remember: the trip to Yosemite, the food drive for the orphanage in Tijuana, practicing canoeing with a full-size canoe in your backyard pool and...

Phil was a part of my husbands life when he was in the boy scouts He went on the trip to the Jamboree. Dennis had to have surgery on that trip. Dennis met up with Phil a couple of years ago and was glad he did. Sorry for your loss.

Dear Marilyn & Family,
I first met Philip when he would carry trophies out to my car when my eldest daughter was in high school in the late 1980s. As many times as I had been to your home, he would insist on guiding me down your driveway (and, I was grateful everytime!). Many years later when my son started in scouting was when I really got to know Mr. Bailey. He agreed to attend Pack 227's Blue & Gold celebration and share his incredible collection of International Boy Scout...

Dear Marilyn and Family,
I have fond memories of Philip and you coming to the restaurant before and with your beautiful grandson. I am so sorry to hear of his passing and that he no longer will be with you. Please do not hesitate to visit us and share his memories with us. We have many years of visits and I want to remain close to you and hope that coming back will not be too painful for you.

Love and prayers,

Dear Bailey Family,
I met Phil through Scouting when my son was a member of Cub Scout Pack 227, based in Agoura Hills. Mr. Bailey agreed to speak about scouting around the world, and he loaned us several Scouting uniforms for one of our our Blue & Gold ceremonies, which was an international celebration that year. We had quite a time convincing 3 cub scouts to wear an old version of the U.S. cub scout uniform with tall socks, a lederhosen type German scout uniform, and a Scottish kilt...

I was a member of Pack & Troop 485 from 1979-1988 in Westlake Village, but continued my Scouting career in Washington until 1997. Mr. Bailey was an incredible role model, leader and inspiration for my 18 year Scouting experience. I wore a number of Mr. Bailey's foreign Scout uniforms, and carried historical flags from his collection in parades in Redlands, CA.

I also took tennis lessons from Mr. Bailey, and appreciated his instruction, patience and willingness to truly...
