Philip R. "Phil" Cunningham

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Phil and I were best of friends all through school. Played basketball in grade school. We had a perfect season in the 8th grade. Then we both played in the HS band. Those were the best yrs in HS. After HS we went on to be roommates at OSU. We escaped the Vietnam War as we both got high numbers in the draft and went directly to High Street to celebrate. As life went on we both got married and went our separate ways. Fortunately we got to see each other and our classmates on 3 separate...

I was always impressed with Phil never giving up on a dream. Always impressed to see him working on his big track- whether he had a practicing horse or not. Especially seeing him with his horse on the track. Always ready for when his "one day" got in reach again! What a life lesson to demonstrate! We´ll miss him. It was wonderful to watch Phil flying around that last turn holding on for dear life to win that race at Delaware.My condolences to the family
