Not sure what to say?

This morning I learned of Phil's passing; I am so sorry and wish his family my condolences. Phil was a good friend and confidante. During the 1990's I sent a great deal of time (and money) at his shop. I learned a lot about porcelain and just about everything else. I will miss him.

I was deeply saddened and in a state of disbelief when I learned of Phil's passing. Phil left an indelible mark on my life and I will forever treasure the years I worked in his shop, a second home where his many friends would drop in and often stay for hours. He was my boss but also my teacher and mentor. He was an astute businessman and taught me so much about the antiques business, art, furniture, interior design, and of course porcelain. While he appreciated the finer things, he also...

So sad to hear about Phil's passing. I have known Phil since the late 70's. He use to come and get food for the Mars meetings when I worked at Roy Rogers. He convinced me to come and apply for a position at Mars supermarket... I worked for Mars for several years before getting a job at the University of Maryland. I was greatly saddened by Phil's passing. I did work for him for many years and it was always a joy to walk in his shop and have him greet you as an old friend. He was knowledgeable, joyous, gracious and quick with a joke. He will be greatly missed.

Deeply saddened by Phil's passing, worked with him at Mars many years ago. Would stop by the shop at times to see him. Always a friendly smile.

Living Spirit Dishgarden

I was deeply saddened to learn of Phil's passing. There are no words to soften the pain. Phil always had a quick smile and kind words when you entered his shop on Howard Street. I was proud to call him a friend. May the healing begin for the family.

My friend, my mentor and my life compass. He made me what I am today. Darkness has settled on the ground, it will take a long time to clear. I will miss you till we meet again

Phil was the best landlord, turned ally, turned friend, that anyone could have. His wit and knowledge was only matched by his loyalty to the circus of fascinating people with whom he surrounded himself. His absence as an ambassador of Charm City will be noticed in certain circles for years to come.
