Not sure what to say?

I have many fond memories of "Doc" Evertz. From guidance counseling to our many hour long conversations about pro-wrestling and other sports to current events and everthing in-between, I learned a great deal from this amazing man. He had a great sense of humor and was one of the most compassionate people I had the honor of knowing. There was never a time where I felt I could not talk to him. He was one of a kind and will be truly missed.

He was one of my favorite teachers, and I never forgot him. I especially remember his "extra credit" questions about Rutgers football.

Phil Evertz (Doc, Mr. Evertz) was a special person. He was teacher of mine, co-worker, later my boss. He was a great teacher, administrator and friend. He touched many. I will never forget the smell of his cigars coming out of the school mail room, him sitting in the corner of the gym watching basketball games, having dinner at Orsatti's in ac with him and my family, his humor, and especially my last time with him this past spring in ac having martini's at ceasars. He was a special person...

I am one of Phils first cousins-his father was my mom's brother- who ever wrote the obit did a good job. I didnt know the half of what Phil did.

He was a wonderful teacher. I will always remember him fondly.

Mr. Evertz, you'll be smoking cigars with my Dad in Heaven. You'll be missed here, you were a good man!!

Mr. Evertz "Doc" we called him was one of the best teachers I had in high school. He not only taught history accurate and well, he taught us as students life lessons. He was a friend and a teacher and knew when to draw that line. He will be missed by many.

This sad time brings back many fond memories...from growing up as kids in Ocean Grove to following Phil through the post cards he sent from around the world. He'll be missed as he goes on his final voyage. From an old friend, Ernie Wolf
