Appreciation. Phil was generous with his appreciation of people from many walks of life, of music of many genres and for the joys that life itself offered. His manner was low-key but his enthusiasm was infectious. Phil was assigned to be my "buddy" when I first started teaching and a wonderful buddy he was. Mr. Phil Hogan was my first music teacher at Holy Cross. I am forever grateful for his talent and the Desantis School of Music for providing me a lifetime of enjoyment! He was a patient teacher and instilled confidence in his students. He helped me find Len Carey who gave me lessons for another 6 years.
