Not sure what to say?

I remember our Research Leader meetings over the years.

I especially remember Phil's sponsorship of my nomination of my academic colleague, Franz Halberg, for a Noble Prize.

What wonderful support!

Dear Rita, We are saddened to hear of Phil's passing, but he is no longer suffering. We are passing the information about his death to the other SHS "Class of 1951" graduates and they too will be sad. He was a very intelligent man and will be sorely missed.

Phil was always good to me and encouraging during my early years at BARC. I recall Phil, Dayton Klingman, Jim Hilton, and others welcoming me to their lunch table during those years when the lunch room was in the Range 2 basement level.

Dr. Kearney was a wonderful, caring person. He went above and beyond for his co- workers. I feel blessed that I knew him. Condolences to your entire family.

To Phil's family: Phil was really a great asset to the scientific community and to the ARS. An excellent judge of the best science, he hired my best colleagues and important friends during our years with ARS in Beltsville. I am sad for the loss - the entire world was lucky to have shared in the advances from his life's work and from a warm and human colleague.

Dear Rita: I remember Phil with a good deal of affection. He helped me prepare a Nobel Prize nomination for my colleague, Franz Halberg. I always enjoyed participating in Research Leader meetings when we were together in AEQI. We will all miss Phil. Dora K. "Holly" Hayes (Hambley)

Dear Mrs. Rita Kearney; I would like to offer my deepest condolences for the loss of your beloved husband Dr. Phil Kearney. I met him in 1988, when I joined ARS in Beltsville and he was at the time, the Director of the former Animal & Natural Research Institute (ANRI). I always appreciate the support and the encouragement that he provided for me in my early career in Beltsville, as a post-doc, and also later on, as a permanent scientist at Beltsville. He was one of my best mentors and...
