We were privileged to visit him in Portland (where he always had ice cream and root beer on offer-sweets from a sweet man), and to video chat regularly once he moved to California and cousin Terry´s during the pandemic. Loved his stories of Michigan and the family. RIP.

Phil's Christmas card was always the first one to arrive each year and it was always full of news of his doings the previous year. I always looked forward to getting it. He was a very nice person. Hugs to the family.

first met phil and jan in detroit in 1960. always enjoyed phils humor. and somewhere there is a picture of all of us in portland after denises graduation. huugs and prayers to all love carole
