Dear Hilary,
I'm so sorry to hear of your father's death. Though I had met him only a couple of times, reading the beautiful obituary made me feel like I knew him well. What a wonderful tribute to a wonderful man!
Wish I could be there to see you.

I remember us kids and him just sitting around, hanging out just watching the Red Sox play on TV sometimes, during the warm summer evenings. He was a very kind and compassionate person from my memories, with a good sense of humor. I do believe one year he gave out tooth brushes on Halloween!
