Not sure what to say?

I will never forget Philip who with the entire Macht family played a lovely part in my childhood on Cape Cod; was my furst glimpse of Philip & Lois in their gorgeous turquoise-colored tiny sport Thunderbird? I believe so. Elegant! Dinners at the Blacksmith Shop - where Amy would be mesmerized by her apricot souffle (as were we all), the intelligence shared, the good cheer. I even somehow still have a beautiful linen & silk checkboard yellow&blue sport shirt of Philip´s which - amazingly - I...

As you mention, I wrote about dear Philip - at the time. Additions? Well, I have a silk and linen, yellow and light blue "plaid," short-sleeved shirt of Philip's which I wear proudly to this day!!! (And I was a teenager when I got it @ 1965) and I'll never forget his small-sized Thunderbird (Convertible? Turquoise?) as long as I live: he inherently could simply not do anything that didn't have the best type of "unconscious" style! I may be repeating myself, but the late Philip Herrera - when...

i've never forgotten the intelligence & wit of the handsome young father who - with dear lois - brought their family to cape cod in the very early 1960s (and for such a unique reason: that they could summer in a house designed by the same architect who created their own baltimore house!)...

his generosity - in entertaining, in sharing their friends & sharing his time - was a total delight.

my love to lois & to "the kids."

sadly.

rest in peace.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. As always! I am sending my heartfelt love.

Amy & Family,
My heart goes out to you for your loss. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

With deepest sympathy,
Stephanie Hull (Elliott)

My friend and mentor since 1969, Philip gave me my life's mission to be "a just and learned man."

Carol, Amy, Danny, Eloise, Sarah, and the entire clan: I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I remember when Mr. Macht came to visit my class to read Dannybird to us and talk about writing books for his grandchildren. May you find comfort among family and friends and in thinking about all the good Mr. Macht accomplished in his life. Nadine Feiler

I never knew Philip personally

Lois and the entire Macht family,
An amazing man and a dearest friend, Philip will be sorely missed. His sense of humor, gracious manner, and intense curiosity in the ways of the world were inspirational - I learned so many things from this caring, insightful, fun-to-know human being. I am fortunate to have come to know him - and I am saddened by the loss of this important man in my life.
