Not sure what to say?

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Maynard family upon the death of man that truly embraced the Gospel message. His generosity to the Akron community and his Alma Mater, Archbishop Hoban High School reflected that commitment. He is now at peace in the embrace of our loving Savior and all those who loved and preceded him in death. God bless. Br. Edward Libbers, csc

So sorry to hear about Mr. Maynards passing. My mother Sandi Kemp enjoyed each day at ASW. He was a wonderful boss and she appreciated all the help he provided during her cancer (as we did as her children). Love and prayers during this difficult time.

Mr. Maynard offered me help and kindnesses far beyond what I rightly deserved. When I was a recent widower, he threw me a fiscal life line and kept me afloat. I watch his favorite movie "A Thousand Clowns" once a year and still marvel at the lessons he carried from it and the gentle perspectives it purveys. Mr. Maynard owned more cars at once than I owned in my whole life. Even so, he stayed away from the fast lane and was steadfastly there calmly giving a gentle bit of roadside assistance...

I am saddened to read of Phil's passing. I meet Phil back years ago when he worked on the dock at Akron Storage with my husband Eddie Powell. Phil was always such a pleasant person and always so upbeat...Then he climbed the ladder under Paul Tell and keep moving right along. I myself have retired from Akron Childrens Hospital where l saw Phil many times . I remember telling him of Eddie's passing and he was very touched by it..May he be at peace now..God Rest his Soul.He was.a Great Man and...

My condolences to the family. I had the extreme honor of caring for Phil at the end of his journey through life. His character and compassion stayed with him throughout his illness. He always had a kind word and showed respect and gratitude to all who cared for him. I feel blessed for having know him for a time. He truly touched my heart.

I had the great pleasure to work with Phil during my 8 years as mayor in Green. Phil was always the gentleman and totally unpretentious and I am proud call him a friend. He will be missed by all who knew him and by those who benefited from his generosity.

An extraordinary person that I enjoyed working with, serving on the Catholic Community Foundation Board. A compassionate gentleman!
