Dear Meli Family, Deepest condolences upon Phil's passing. Thank you for sharing Phil with the City of Cleveland for three decades. I witnessed Phil's outstanding service as a policeman. As a Cleveland Policeman, he assisted our security detail and was always alert, caring and professional. I remember his broad smile as well as his serious attention to detail. So very sorry to learn of the passing of Phil. On several occasions while detailed to the CPD Personnel Unit had the privilege of working with Phil. Dear Meli family, Sgt. Meli was my Sergeant in 1975 as the OIC of the Cleveland Police Cadet program. A few years later he was my Sergeant in the Basic Patrol section of the 2nd District. We founded the Cops, Kids and Xmas program on November 10, 1982, and 40 years later we still go to the Ronald Mcdonald house during the Christmas season. Sgt. Oh, Pops!! You were one of my favorite people in the whole world!! Treated me like one of your own! So funny, sweet, stern and caring...just the best!!! Love you with all my heart!! That heart is broken for Cin, Char and Phil!! I love you all too!!

Philip will be deeply missed by all of our staff, Dr. Bodman Podiatry Associates. Our prayers of gratitude for sharing him with us, and prayers for healing go to his family and friends.

Phil and I came on the job at the same time. Enjoyed his company over the years. My condolences to his family he will be missed. So RIP my brother in blue until we meet again on the other side.

We are grieved to learn of the passing of my uncle and Godfather. Philip Meli. We look forward to worshipping with and seeing you on Tuesday. We pray for Char and all the family and friends of Uncle Phil.
