So very sorry to learn of the passing of Phil. On several occasions while detailed to the CPD Personnel Unit had the privilege of working with Phil. Dear Meli family, Sgt. Meli was my Sergeant in 1975 as the OIC of the Cleveland Police Cadet program. A few years later he was my Sergeant in the Basic Patrol section of the 2nd District. We founded the Cops, Kids and Xmas program on November 10, 1982, and 40 years later we still go to the Ronald Mcdonald house during the Christmas season. Sgt. Philip will be deeply missed by all of our staff, Dr. Bodman Podiatry Associates. Our prayers of gratitude for sharing him with us, and prayers for healing go to his family and friends.
