how i miss our conversations. your empathy and warmth, self-deprecating humor and intelligence, and your ability to distill magic from the sublime or, more often than not, quotidian. that was your alchemy.

I was in a band with Phil. In my brief time around him everyone respected and loved him. I'm sure all that knew him have fond memories of Phil that will last forever. He'd probably roll his eyes, chuckle, and wouldn't want me to write that, but it's true. Condolences to his family and friends. I thought Phil was awesome.
