I am taken aback by the loss of your Dad, as I'm sure you were last year. What a terrific picture and example of my memory of him. He and your Mom were such the couple around your house. These kind of men were the subtle examples teenaged boys needed of "men" in their sight. I am glad to have known him.

Dear Sue, Phil, Bill, and family,

I'm deeply saddened to learn of your loss. I first met your Dad at UMass as a fraternity brother and remember his (every) weekend trip home to Auburn to see his Helen. There were several others who made the trip with him and they were known as "the Brown Baggers". Later, I served with him in the Army Reserve and often saluted him, as his Captain's rank (and he) warranted. Later, we worked together at Friendly's for many years. I still remember how...
