Not sure what to say?

I was saddened to learn of Judge Palmer's death. I joined the SLCPD in 1971 when Phil also started with the City Prosecutor's office. He was the first prosecutor I worked cases with and throughout the remainder of my 33 year career our paths constantly crossed. He always had a kind word and treated me in a most professional manner. My condolences to his family,Judge Palmer was a fine man.

An admired law school classmate.

Phil and Carrie were such a prime example of goodness. I well remember them and their family. They were so very good to me and my husband when we were married in 1968. Always looked up them to the great example of their marriage relationship. It made a lasting impression on me now 48 years later. So send my love and prayers for you Carrie and your lovely family. He is back with Rhett again. We now live in American Fork and I have worked for the courts since 1998. Love you always.

When I first met Judge Palmer in 1985, he and I had just started working at the Fifth Circuit Court building on the corner of 400 South and 200 East. What a delightful, quiet gentleman he always was. At that time, I didn't realize a judge could be so human and caring. Even Judge Palmer's laugh was soft, but very sincere.

Over the years, as I got to know him very well, my opinion never changed from that first impression. What a truly remarkable, thoughtful gentleman he was. He had a...

I first got to know Phil when he hired me to be a part time prosecutor for Salt Lake City and thereafter I appeared before him numerous times once he became a judge. He was truly one of the most wonderful, thoughtful, modest and considerate persons I have ever known. He was a gentleman to all, no matter what their station in life may have been. From prince to pauper, all were treated the same, with respect and dignity. He was the type of prosecutor and judge that all should strive to...

I was so saddened to hear of Judge Palmer's passing. To say he was a great person is an understatement. I had the honor and privilege to clerk with him for several years. Never once did I hear him raise his voice, he always treated everyone with respect. He was kind, caring, gentle and fair with all that came in contact with him. I will never forget his lunch everyday which consisted of a cookie and Mountain Dew. This made me laugh. I remember sitting in his chambers...

I first knew Judge Palmer when I was a young whippersnapper of a lawyer. Phil was a prosecutor. I can say without any reservation or exaggeration that I always enjoyed working with your husband, father, grandfather when he was the Salt Lake City prosecutor. I was just a young kid learning how to practice law. Phil was always kind, generous, and very fair to me and my clients.

It's a mistake sometimes to lay all your cards on the table with some prosecutors. That was never true with...

Judge Palmer was a good judge and good person.

As a SLC Police Officer I worked with the Judge as a prosecutor and when he was on the bench. A real gentleman and a good friend. The world is a sadder place today .. RIP Phil.
