I never realized as a young police rookie and working for him on Stratford Ave that he was trully a great american hero. He never spoke of this.
I am gratefull that I had the pleasure of knowing him.May he now be in peace

I met some of the U.S. Army Rangers in Clemson this week who traveled here to honor Mr. Piazza. They told me about his passing. I will present some history about Merrill's Marauders and pay homage to Mr. Piazza on my radio show on WSBF-FM, Clemson, on Monday night, 6 June (D-Day, incidentally), shortly after 10 p.m.

May God rest His hands on those with sorrow and bless the ones this brave man left behind. Peace and love to your family in this time of sadness.

On behalf of the US Army Ranger Association and Rangers around the world I would like to offer condolences for your loss. Rangers like Phil changed the world for the better, not only during WWII, but in the years following by their public service. Thank you for your part in supporting the great man Phil was.
God Bless and Comfort You. We give thanks for Phil's long and productive life.

Had the pleasure and honor to know Phil via the Clemson Rotary Club. Did not understand how great a War Hero and Honored Veteran Phil was until I was at Fort Benning seeing my son graduate Infantry school and to see Phil's full size photo displayed. We are all blessed to had him in our community. Randy Leo Bell

I had the honor of calling Phil a friend- I met him American Veterans Center symposium where he spoke on a panel of Merrils Marauders along with Mr Quaid and Mr Hopkins among others. I kept in touch but its been a while since my last phone call. An honored veteran who served his country. May his family remember his service to his country and keep his memory alive. Rest in peace my friend
