Not sure what to say?

Phil, we all remember you and spoke of the many great memories we shared with you at our 40th in Annapolis this past October. God bless, Dave Karson

To Gail and family, Phil´s passing was so sad. Phil was quite a guy. Very smart and he loved people, especially his wife and family. He was a great neighbor. He is dearly missed by all. Remembering Phil in prayer.

Dear Savage Family,

I read of Phil's passing in this month's Shipmate. Phil was a "youngster" in 7th Company when I was a senior. I remember him as a funny and good natured man.

I will remember him and you in my prayers.

Eternal rest grant until him oh Lord, and may the perpetual light shine on him.

Dear family of Phil,
I am so sad today to read of Phil's passing. It has been a long time since I've seen him, probably since high school. I remember Phil well. We were close back then. We spent the summer before our senior year down at the YMCA lifting weights 3 mornings a week. I was on the swim team and Phil was on the wrestling team. We were great friends and he was such a wonderful combination of brilliance, wit and humor. I can remember him laughing...what a great laugh. ...

I was very sadden to learn of the loss of Phil and I extend my deepest sympathies to his family. I was a member of 7th Company at the Academy, so I had the pleasure of knowing Phil for four years during college. As others have noted, Phil had great wit and a keen sense of humor and will be missed by all.

Phil was one of the funniest people I have ever known. When I moved to the neighborhood in 1976, I met Brian and the whole Savage clan. Phil was the great organizer of sandlot sporting events, none of which I was very good at but certainly received a number of nicknames from Phil due to my great desire to perform. In baseball games I was "hard-swing" and in basketball my name was "sky-ball." Nonetheless, just being around Phil made me want to be a better person because of the gifted guy...

To The Savage Family: My family and I extend our sincerest Condolences to all of you in Phil's passing. It was an Honor to have known Phil for the for years we spent together at the Academy, and I know that his absence will be felt by all the lives he has touched. Our Company of Sea Dogs (7th Co.) is ready, and I am certain, willing, to provide you with any support that you might need. Sincerely, Jess Gogue

Gail, Sorry to hear about Phil. My thoughts are with you and Isalel. Sincerely Wendy Kelly

Gail and Isabel, We send our heartfelt sympathy. Phil certainly meant so much to many people, especially his family. Our caring thoughts will be with you for a long time to come. May your hearts be filled with warm thoughts and treasured memories of a kind, fun, intelligent, and loving husband and father. As neighbors, know we will be here for you as Phil was for us.
