PHILIP T. "PHIL" SHEETS Jr.

PHILIP "PHIL" T. SHEETS JR., 53, passed away Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018, in his home. Born Oct. 17,1964, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of Philip T. Sheets Sr. and Marsha Lou (Rolf) Sheets. He lived an adventurous 53 years. Phil had many passions, which he has also sparked in his children and step children. From childhood, he was on the football and wrestling teams and excelled as part of the Snider High School programs. He earned an Engineering degree from Purdue University and was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity. Phil was passionate about airplanes and was a pilot; he even built and flew his own ultralight airplane. His adventurous spirit didn't stop there, he also loved to travel the world and would skydive and scuba-dive. Phil and his oldest son, Phil, ran with the bulls in Pamplona. Phil also loved animals and nature and could not leave a pet store without dogs, fish, birds, or other creatures. Phil enjoyed building and flying remote control boats, planes, and drones with his kids. He loved being outside in nature, hunting, fishing or four wheeling. Phil was in for any adventure. Phil is survived by: his wife, Sherry; first wife, Angie Sheets; children, Philip "Ty" Titus Sheets III, Natalie Sheets, Sophie Sheets, and Dexter Sheets; stepchildren, Vince Dawson and Blake Dawson; father, Philip T. Sheets Sr.; sisters, Angie (Mark) Trowbridge and Mindi (John) Brincefield; several nieces and nephews, and his beloved dogs. Phil was preceded in death by his mother, Marsha Sheets; and daughter, Kylie Sheets. Memorial service is 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018, at The Chapel, 2505 W.
