Artie, am just now learning of your dad's passing away. His obituary was a tremendous testiment to his public service. So very sorry could not be there for funeral. I remember him well (remember when we all tipped over in the canoe-cold water!). However, I'm still glad you have Deborah and Kip in town (was not aware Kip was local). Sincere condolence to Phil's family. As a businessman in Charlotte/Matthews until moving away in 1999 I knew Phil right well through the City Club and from doing some business with him. He was an extremely likable person in all aspects, from my observations. Ben A. Robinson, 12-4-04

I didnt know Mr Small but for a short time,(I am one of the people who took care of him at CMC-Pineville, I was with him when he passed) but the degree of love his family showed for him lets me know that he was a great man. I wish his family all the best and they will be in my prayers.
