Not sure what to say?

I first met Phil back in 1982 back before the wedding of his daughter Ann to my lifelong friend Mike. I always remember Phil treating me like I was just a member of the family then - a trait that I'm sure he carried all his life to most everyone he met. I didn't run across Phil much over the years but, whenever I did, the same attitude he showed towards me in 1982 held each time I saw him. I could tell that he was a much loved man, both by family and friends...and that he deserved it.

Phil Thompson was a great judge and the best boss I ever had. Most importantly, he was a devoted family man and a kind and gentle soul. My condolences to Colleen and the rest of their devoted family.

My brother and I used to attend court for entertainment. We were in his courtroom, and after the room was emptying he asked us if he could help us. He was a kind and just man.

I consider myself very lucky to worked with and provided support to Judge Phil Thompson at the Superior and a Court of Appeals. His humanity, intelligence and wit made him a very special person and judge. His love of family and friends were inspirational. The greatest compliment I can pay Judge Philip J. Thompson is during my forty-five year career being exposed to hundreds of judges, Judge Thompson was the best judicial officer I was fortunate enough to work with. Blessings to his family.

I met Phil while in college and business in Spokane ( also in the handball courts) . Such a remarkable man, a true joy, giver in every way to those he knew and all he did. None better. My condolences to his family who he loved dearly.Rest in peace Phil.

So sorry for your loss. He was a fabulous professor and mentor. He wrote a recommendation for me and helped me get my first job when I graduated from GU Law in 83. He was admired by all that knew him. Such a fine man and Judge. He lived the life that he taught-service justice , commitment to family and the community through faith.

Hello Thompsons - I am sorry to hear about the loss of your husband and Dad. I have so many fond memories of spending time with all of you as we grew up together and Phil was an integral part of that. He was always so welcoming and always fun to be with. Be assured of my prayers for all of you as you say goodbye to him. Hugs to you all
