He was my family's attorney and helped me out during a very trying time and I will never forget that. RIP MR Toronto.

I wish I were saying this directly to Phil, but working for him was one of the greatest learning experiences of my life. There were many lessons I was too young at the time to appreciate. Phil's genuine passion for governing was ultimately at odds with the often dirty game of politics. He should've gone further in this realm, but it is my hope that he will at least be remembered for the many positive changes he made in his beloved hometown of Lodi. Rest in peace Mayor.

I have many great memories of the years I knew Phil Toronto having served with him as a council member of the Lodi Borough Council during his second term as mayor. But even before then Phil helped me navigate a difficult moment in my adolescence.
