Not sure what to say?

Knobby was a beloved friend, classmate, and roommate of my husband, Gerard "Gerry"Reed. They shared many happy memories (and entertaining stories!) about the years they spent at Andover and Yale. Along with Bill Cahill and Jay Drake, they continued their close friendship for the remainder of their lives. Knobby survived his three buddies. Rest in peace, dear friend. You were a remarkable man who was loved by many.

Phillip Walsh was a dear friend of my father's for many years. They went to Andover together, and then to Yale. LIke Phillip, my dad Gerard "Gerry" Reed was a member of the class of '44. Of course, I never heard him referred to as Phillip. He was alway "Knobby" to my dad. They shared so many things, from a love of poetry and history to a strong loyalty to their alma mater. I best remember Uncle Philip at the family Christmas parties he and Aunt Sandy so generously hosted way back when in New Vernon, especially hanging out in the basement with Uncle Willie and Aunt Helen's driver! Uncle Philip was a devoted nephew to my grandparents, and they loved him dearly. My brother Kevin recalls Uncle Philip visiting Grampie in Hospice shortly before Grampie died. Grampie's hair was very white at the end, and Uncle Philip observed, "Uncle Ernie, you look like a lion!"...

Philip was a good friend for 63 years and a most capable business associate of mine at W. R. Grace & Co. where I was employed for 40 years. He was very bright, friendly and loyal.
