Not sure what to say?

I was sad to hear of the passing of Mr. Wendell. I am so sorry for your loss. I am Brenda (Jezowski) Crump. Mr Wendell was my band teacher in 6-8 grade and I truly loved his support and encouragement. I never forgot him over the years and was trying to find him to tell him in person when I saw this notice. I am now a retired Captain from Los Angeles Police Department and over the years remembered Mr. Wendell and the impact he made on my life. I was probably the tiniest little drummer he ever...

I had Mr. Wendell for 6th through 8th grade band at McAlear-Sawden. One year, the band won a Grade I in the regionals, and went to the State competition. He also coached me with a solo, and Walt Fitzhugh and myself in a duet on the drums for solo and ensemble festivals.

My condolences to the family.

Neil and I are sorry to read that Phil passed away. He and Neil shared a lot of good times together as musicians. I just always knew if he was around there would be laughter. We hope you are catching up on your rest and that this Christmas you will be surrounded by many family and friends.

Rest In Peace

I had Mr. Wendell for choir in jr high and high school. I absolutely loved him and his class. I am so sorry to hear he has passed away. I am so sorry for your loss and please except my condolences. I'm in shock and extremely saddened by this.

I can't help but smile when I think about Mr. Wendell. He was such a wonderful man. I remember his great sense of humor and his incredible patience with a great group of rowdy middle-schoolers, and have great memories of him squeezing a big blue Mitchell bus around tight corners in East Coast cities when he drove for our fife and drum corps tour. I'm grateful for his life and to have had the privilege of knowing him.

I HAVE MANY HAPPY MEMORIES OF MR WENDELL I HAVE THOUGHT OF HIM OFTEN THROUGH OUT THE YEARS. HE WAS A WONDERFUL MAN AND TEACHER. MY PRAYERS TO HIS FAMILY

SHANNON MCNEAL

I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Wendell's passing. He was one of my Favorite Teachers! I always loved his jokes! He was a special teacher, person, and a great mentor. He was always available to his students, and you could tell he enjoyed his students too. (Western Class of 1993)
