Phillip Roy Berryhill was born December 18, 1952 in Seminole, TX and died May 6, 2014 in Douglas, AZ. A Celebration of Phil's Life will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Avenue Hotel in Douglas on Saturday May 10, 2014. Phil served 4 years in the US Army as a radio operator; he worked in Vietnam, Thailand, and Turkey. Later, he was hired by NSA where he served in Tehran, Iran 78-79 departing just before the hostages were taken; Rome, Italy 79-81 where daughter, Heidi, was born; Jeddah, Saudi Arabia (82-83) with daughter, Marsha; and his last overseas tour in Havana, Cuba (87-90). In October of 1983, Phil had a short mission to La Paz, Bolivia where he met Holly and fell in love. They were married in Greenbelt, MD June 6, 1986. In 1991, Phil and Holly moved to Douglas where they farmed pistachios in partnership with Holly's parents and operated Merit Pest Control. For a brief time Phil prepared rock samples for petrographic analysis (thin sections.) Phil retired from government service on February 28, 2013 after 10 years with the Post Office where he was known as Felipe. Phil loved playing golf, gardening, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Phil is survived by his wife Holly, daughter Heidi, daughter Marsha and her husband Michael Dayon, grandchildren Roland Dayon and Elizabeth Dayon; brother Martin Berryhill ( sister-in-law Pat), and brother Tim Berryhill.
Memorial gifts may be made to The First Tee of Tucson to provide golf opportunities to at-risk children.

Phil will truly be missed. He was such a special nephew to my mom and dad, and cousin to me. I will always appreciate that he called dad at least once a month to see how he was doing since mom passed. Dad will miss his calls. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you.
