Heartfelt love and prayers for the family of COL. Phil Blake. I feel very fortunate to have had Captain Blake as my commander in Vietnam in 1967. I am thankful to have had his leadership and courage. There is so much to say and so few words fit to describe Colonel Blake. I was honored to have served under him in Vietnam. He was my first Combat Commander. He had such a presence most of troopers admired him. To me he was a great leader. He set an example of what a man should be in this world. I have tried to pattern my life after Colonel Phil Blake. I have fallen far short, but to honor his memory I must endeavor to move forward. This is also to pay respect to his wife Reda and family.

Prayers and Condolences to the COL Blake Family from Troopers of 12th Cavalry Association from those of us who knew in Vietnam and hence. A true Officer and Gentlemen, and iconic example of Leadership to the Troops who served with him in 1st-12th Cavalry (ABN) in 1966 and had the privilege of knowing him and Reda in our many Association Reunion gatherings. Salute to a true American Soldier and prayers for Reda and the family members. If there is anything we can do, call on us...Semper Paratus...

It was my privilege to meet Col. Blake on several occasions while I visited my friend, Matt Blake. My thoughts and prayers are with the Blake family.
