Not sure what to say?

Dear Diane and family,

My heartfelt sympathies and prayers go out to you at this difficult time.

I held a great respect for Phil. The four or so years, working at the Idle Hour, were some of the fondest memories I hold. Every single time I hear someone say "The Bears" or when the State Fair opens, I think of Phil, always with a smile. He loved the State Fair. The day after it ended, he would start counting the days until it opened again.

To the Bova Family
Very sorry to hear of Phil's passing. Whether it was soap box racers or football teams with Frank Carazuba; Phil always brought people together. He left a good impact on a lot of people and I'm sure you will see him in many that knew him. Vivian and I will miss him and know that we have lost a good friend, neighbor, and mentor.
Doug Jakway ( former neighbor)

Diane,

I am so sorry to hear about Phil’s passing that I have no words to describe it.

I feel that I’ve lost a part of my family.......

The bar has been so empty without Phil being there.

I’ll never forget that when I was little short for cash, Phil would let me put my lunch on a “tab” until I got paid on Friday. That is the quintessential definition of friend.

Without a doubt, I have lost a very dear friend today........

I can’t imagine a summer...
