Phil will be remembered as a character actor, but he was much more. His directorial work showed him to be an insightful student of drama. He was a story-teller without compare and a most generous artist. I will remember him fondly as a benefactor and a delightful friend.

Sorry to hear of Phil's death. I visited with him at a Bruns reunion in Lake Benton Minnesota six years ago. I remember him most as we gathered at our Grandparent's home and went sledding at the gravel pit and hills. We did enjoy watching him on Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman.
