Not sure what to say?

I knew Flip (my nickname for Phil) from Carpenter Bros. Hardware. Phil was a great guy and I feel that the world is a little dimmer with his passing. I am sadden to hear that he is no longer with us and extend my deepest sympathy to his family.

Phil and I knew each other because of our love of british sports cars and road racing. By chance we also both happened to be in the hardware business. His experience with road racing helped answer many of my questions. I will miss him greatly. Photos of your latest find are attached. Race in heaven, you earned it. Dave

It was a pleasure to take care of Philly for a few years as his family doc. Lots of stories. He always had lots of plans for Pennsylvania projects, relationships and all. I am very impressed by the care by Ben and his family for his last days. Seems like a few days ago when he talked about his cancer at the Men's meeting at Connor's and then going to Colorado to get some PT with his daughter. And he had a good death! We will surely miss him! To Phil!

In 1979, our Lamaze class immediately noticed that two regular members, Phil and Kathleen Carpenter, were absent. Our smiling instructor shared the news. "This afternoon, Phil and Kathleen lovingly birthed their daughter!" (Kristin) The ultimate purpose of our fellowship was confirmed nervously by our group! On September 11th, Drew Leslie was born - it was our turn to witness God's miracle and to share a blessed year. - Dale Leslie Photo: Drew, Jessica and their children Thad, 13, and...

It is with great sadness that I have learned of Phil's passing. We were life long friends that met at age 5. I will miss his sense of humor, generosity, kindness, and the many ideas and dreams we discussed over the years. My condolences go out to his family.

Our condolences to all the family and those who loved Phil. We know he will be deeply missed. Those racing days were fun!

I've known Phil for over 50 years. I first met him at Sports Car Service when I brought them a race car that I had bought to have them check it over and make sure it was safe to race. Since then Phil and I and others have had many adventures in searching for and picking up mostly old British sports cars and parts from many locations around the US. I will miss you my friend. Race in peace.
