Phil and friends in 1972.

Phil was a caring and authentic person who enjoyed life and shared his positive outlook to inspire others. My memories of playing in bands with Phil are still fresh and enjoyable. Rock on Phil.

I first met Phil when he enrolled in my museum studies class at MCC. I was impressed immediately by his knowledge of both the local art scene and the arts generally. He was a "student" of the arts in the broadest and best sense of the word. He will be missed in our small corner of the arts world. KD

It sincerely saddened me to learn of his death, Phillip and I worked together during the late 1980's and I recall him well. He was a very dedicated employee and had a terrific sense of humor, as well as knowing much about so many interesting subjects. I am sorry for your loss.

The Petersen family will miss seeing and enjoying Phil's company at our special celebrations with Lindsey and Luke.

Chmura family--Ruth, Barb, Maggie, Mike, Ginny--we are so sorry for your loss. Prayers have been and will be with you.

I was stunned to read of Phil's because I had no idea he was ill. Such a sweet and gentle man. Such a loss. Because we are away we will not be witness to the tributes sure to come at his memorial.
