Not sure what to say?

I met Phil when his brother Leon and I worked at the design agency The Newday Group. I would see him, camera in hand, at every street fest or event in DC. He was one of the nicest, low-key funny guys I ever met. So sorry to hear of his passing.

Phil Collins was treasure abf good friend we discuss everything from entertainment or world culture. Phil traveled a lot and he new a lot Abour different cultures and photographed not just for jet but from my small record company. Phil Collins photographed the single cover for the singing artist `Jewel´ and others. Phil has a smile that would brightening up gloomy day and always had words of encouragement. Phil is gone will never be forgotten....

Dear Debbie and family, We recently learned of the loss of your dear brother, Phillip. Our heartfelt sympathy go out to all of you. May you find comfort in your faith and your love for one another. Requiem aeternam, Phillip. Daisy & Phineaus.

Phillip was the youngest child of the Collins family, who lived on Varnum Street from 1952 until his passing. He saved the family home from the gentrification that eroded a once vibrant, upper middle class Black block. He was a great guy, a good neighbor and a renowned Jet Magazine photographer. He will be remembered fondly.

We are saddened by the loss of Phil, who was a wonderful neighbor. Our hearts go out to his family and friends.

Phill was my mentor. He not only shaped the photographer I am today, but the person I am also. I have learned a lot from Phil. He will be greatly missed. Sending Love and Light to all whom are affected by Phil's passing.
