In the early 1960's Phil was on the HMNZS Pukaki with Ray ( Shiner Wright). It was doing weather patrol picket duties down to the Sth pole. The ship was regularly in and out of Dunedin. Phil spent much of his free time when away from the ship at Ray's parents Home where many of the Pukaki boys and Dunedin Nurses spent many a happy time playing the latest 45 records of the 60's eating Nana Wrights prepared food. I have such lovely memories of Phil in those days. They were such a close group...
