I knew Coach Love only by reputation following him as a young faculty member at Erwin. I knew this. The students loved this man. He was a true hero.

Coach Love lived across the street from us in Dora. He was an excellent teacher and Coach. He took a real interest in me and my brother Ray as football players and we thought the world of him. RIP Coach...

Coach Love has a special place in my heart. In August 1972 he allowed me to join the football team several weeks before the start of the season. Later he sought to start a chapter of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, which I suspect was motivated by a spiritual awakening. Very sad to hear about the passing of Coach. I have many memories of him on the baseball fields at Moncrief coaching our park league teams. Great coach but a better man. We love and will miss you Coach.
