Phil passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, May 29, 2010 with his family at his side.
Phil was born on March 28, 1950 in Washington State to Max and Phyllis Manger. Phil attended Camas High School and graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Wash., with a B.A.

Our dear friend, our best man, the father of my goddaughter, one of "the group" from CHS. So many memories from our wedding where you bought roses to keep me sane to the day Mt St Helens blew and we were all together, to Disneyland, to Vegas, to Phyliss's passing. For so many varied and wonderful memories, thank you Phil.

I'm so sorry to hear about Phil's passing. I have fond memories of him and being his neighbor during our childhood days. I'll always remember the night of the Columbus Day storm that he spent in our living room huddled around candles and the fireplace with my family. Max and Phyllis were not home that night and we were concerned about him being alone in that big house with all the windows.
Here's a picture we found not long ago of Phil and I as kids with King, his Alaskan Husky.
