One of my daughters went to Garces, One went to East High School. One (MVP) brought the first Softball Fastpitch National Championship to Bakersfield and was also asked to attend WHS! I pitched for WHS and in Bakersfield.

I lived across the street from Phil and was a classmate of his at East Bakersfield High School. I ran into him at a Bakersfield Junior College dance the night before he shipped out to Vietnam. I'm glad he made it back and became a success. I extend my heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the family of this fine man and will always remember him.
