Phillip Eldon Pratt, 84, of Fort Wayne, Ind., passed away peacefully at his home on March 3, 2025, Over the last 10 years, Phil courageously battled Alzheimer's disease. Phil was born on March 2, 1941, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to the late Eldon and Ellen Pratt. Phil was united in marriage to his wife, Joyce Stoppenhagen, on January 25, 1964, and together they shared 61 years of happiness and cherished memories. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Phil always placed his family first. Phil worked at Harvester for 10 years, before co-owning Townsend and Pratt Auto Sales for 25 years. In addition to his work, Phil found joy in his hobbies and interests. He loved traveling and spending time at the lake with his family. If the television was on, it was likely tuned to a car auction, where Phil-ever the gearhead-enjoyed watching streams of fast and furious cars crossing the stage. Phil was also a member of Promise Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, IN. Phil will be remembered for his warm and caring nature. He never knew a stranger and always made an effort to ensure everyone felt included. His sense of humor was unparalleled, and it was rare to leave a conversation with Phil without a smile on your face. He had a rare ability to connect with anyone. Phil is survived by his loving wife, Joyce; daughters, Tami (Mike Cotter) Casey of Fort Wayne, IN, and Stacey (Chad) Bush of Fort Wayne, IN; grandchildren, Kylie (Tommy) Baldwin of Columbia City, IN; Austin (Olivia) Casey of Fort Wayne, IN; Breana Bush of Fort Wayne, IN; and Miranda Bush of Fort Wayne, IN.
