Not sure what to say?

Mr and Mrs Shackelford were like a second mom and dad to me during my high school days in Mt. Pleasant with my best friend their daughter Darlene and into my later years when they also "adopted" into their large hearts my husband Kevin. The last time I saw Mr. Shackelford, Darlene and I walked into his kitchen and with that huge smile he yelled out, "it's my twins" recalling how inseparable Darlene and I were as teens. He was such a dear, dear man and he will be truly missed by those who...

Flip - I am so sorry for your loss. I did not know your father, but judging by what has been written about him, he must have been an outstanding man! Just sorry I didn't get to meet him. I pray for you and your family during this time and ask God to comfort and bless each one of you.

We were saddened to see that Mr. Shackelford has passed away. He was a gentle and quiet man, full of good cheer, who made everyone feel better just by his being in the room. We extend our sympathy love and prayers to Darlene, Derek and the boys, and to the family.

Saddened to hear the news. He was well-loved!

Flip and family, my prayers and hugs to your family. Please hold onto all the beautiful good memories. I wish I could be there to give you a huge hug. Love Bre

I am thankful for your father's service to our country and the kindness and love he extended to me as a cadet and graduate of The Citadel. Judy and I hold you and Derek in our...

My heart knows that Phillip and Sarah are together again, sharing memories of their wonderful life and sweet stories of each of you their precious family.
