Mr and Mrs Shackelford were like a second mom and dad to me during my high school days in Mt. Pleasant with my best friend their daughter Darlene and into my later years when they also "adopted" into their large hearts my husband Kevin. We were saddened to see that Mr. Shackelford has passed away. He was a gentle and quiet man, full of good cheer, who made everyone feel better just by his being in the room. We extend our sympathy love and prayers to Darlene, Derek and the boys, and to the family.
