Not sure what to say?

An immense opportunity to add to previous comments about Dr. Shriver. He was immensely gifted and articulate University Leader who contributed to so much to the development of the Miami University Campuses and presence as one of the finest and most progressive institutions in the world. His warm and unique presence was always felt by the entire University community.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family in this hour of sadness. We will remember him fondly.

The Macklin Family

I grew up in Oxford and remember Dr. Shriver working with the youth at Oxford Presbyterian Church. Darcy, you were just a year ahead of me in school; your dad was the best President Miami ever had; of course, he was President when I was there, (class of 76). I am a teacher today in part, due to the influence he had and the fine school of education at Miami. I think the thing I appreciated most about him was that he always had time for students. I remember going to the graduation open house...

I worked at the Administration Building at Miami University in the 70's & Dr. Shriver used to come over & visited with each & everyone including myself & my co-workers! He will be sorely missed! To his family, please have peace knowing he's in a better place w/no pain. Sincerely,

From 1975 through 2001, I represented the people living in an urban- Appalachian community called Peck's Addition, located across the road from Miami University Hamilton Campus in the center of Hamilton, Ohio. To my advantage, Dr. Shriver was a supporter that I greatly admired and kept informed. In my mind I will always be thankful for Dr. Shriver's assistance and remember him as a great humanitarian.

Dr. Shriver was President during my Miami years. In addition to observing his leadership from afar, I had the distinct pleasure of taking an Ohio History evening course taught by Dr. Shriver. It was an extraordinary experience to watch and listen as he brought Ohio's past to life.
Dr. Shriver was an exceptional academic, leader, gentleman and role model to those he touched.
May God comfort his loved ones with warm memories and a wonderful legacy.

Miami U. has never been the same since he left, he left very big shoes to fill and so far none have even come close.

Martha - My condolences to you and your family. With memories of you and Mildred in Bellevue.

In memory of one of the most distinctive, humanitarian and dededicated accomplished intellectuals and sponsors of excellence in University level education in the United States ever to have led in the role.

Dr. Shriver's inspiration and leadership was exceptionally impressive on all of us students and close Alumni of Miami University. His lifetime dedication, beginning with included highly distinctive US Naval Service in World War II will live in all of our memories for all...
