Not sure what to say?

My wife and I along with friends visited Franco's in Norfolk usually on Friday nights. The real treat for the evening was talking to Phil and listening to him play the piano. He was and will remain in our heart the warm and loving person that God brought into our lives. Anyone that knew Phil was a better person from the experience. We will miss him until we are all united together in paradise with the Lord.

Phil:

You are a special friend. Our prayer walks together, music, your superb Prime Rib of Beef - your gentleness and humor. You touched my life and I have grown from that.
Can't wait to see you as we sit together in that great Marriage Supper of the Lamb in heaven (Revelation 19).
Love in Christ,
Art

A tragic, too soon loss for all of us.

So many wonderful memories of this man have come to my mind in the last week. I remember my first day at Little Creek FAP office. I was unpacking my stuff and Phil came in and one of his first questions was "what do you do for lunch?" I gave the right answer when I said I like to go out. There are good guys in the world and there are bad guys. Phil was not just a good guy, he was one of the best I have ever had the joy of knowing. When he retired from Civil Service in 2006, I told him...

I had the pleasure of serving with Phil on board Navy School of Music in the late 80s. An accomplished performer and instructor, Phil could always brighten your day with his infectious sense of humor. A true Shipmate and gentleman.

Phil was a true friend and a wonderful coworker. We worked together at the Family Advocacy office in Little Creek and would often just chat on slower days. Phil always talked about his family with so much pride and joy. I pray for all of his family and friends during this difficult time. May your memories of this amazing man sustain you. Phil will be truly missed.

Phil served as a wonderful mentor and friend to many of us here at Navy Family Advocacy. His humor, love of family and friends, and his constant pursuit of the next "best luch spot" will be missed. Our prayers are with you, God Bless.

My heart goes out to Joey and Phil's family. I pray that God gives all who knew him peace. I miss his great sense of humor, working with him at Little Creek Amphibous base, going to lunch, and talking to him.

From the membership of the Navy Musicians Association, I offer my personal and our deepest sympathy to the family of Phil. He will be greatly missed by all of us who have enjoyed his presence, although all to brief, and kindness. May he rest in peace.
