I was so saddened to see this obituary this morning. Phil hired me at the age of 18 as the first female order desk clerk at Industrial Iron Works. I worked for him on Macadam Avenue and then when the plant moved to Tigard. He was a delight to work for and so clever and funny. Loved by everyone at the foundry. I remember one morning when he told me his twin daughters had made him lunch - only to find pieces of bread and a small can of tuna in his lunch bag. He thought it was hilarious. I...
