Not sure what to say?

I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Phoebe's sudden passing. I was looking forward to seeing her at our 50th reunion at Vassar next year. She will be greatly missed then as now. My condolences to her family.

The Salpointe Catholic High School community extends deepest sympathy to the McCarthy family. You are in our prayers at this difficult time.

So sorry to learn of Phoebe's passing. It was a joy getting to know her and Steve as we worked on repairs to the house in Lincoln. Her humor and passion will be missed. Our thoughts are with you Steve and the whole family.

To a Dear and Special Friend. To a gentle, loving and caring Friend who left us too soon. Phoebe you have inspired so many of us in the Lexington Field & Garden Club. Thank you for coming in September with Steve. I did not know that when I said to you by coming "this was the best gift of the day that you have given to me", became the best gift forever. Thank you Mrs. Anderson, Steve, and Steven for sharing her with so many of us. Love

Amy and I were surprised to learn of Phoebe's passing. She was a vibrant woman, so excited by life, music, and the arts. I remember her giving us a plant, lamb's ear, to plant as good luck when we bought our house in Melrose, MA. I also remember her passion for knitting: she was outraged when officials threatened to seize her knitting needles at Heathrow Airport prior to our flight in 1998! We are thinking of Steve and Stephen.

Mike and Amy Salvatore

An exceptionally warm, outgoing person, Phoebe took wonderful care of her Mother and of her two men. We only knew her briefly but we will miss her. Judy, Tim and Jim Ullman

Our prayers for you and your family. Phoebe was an inspiration and will truly be missed.

May her memory be for a blessing.

My deepest condolences to all Phoebe's family and friends. Phoebe was a person of amazing wisdom and strength. I was privileged to celebrate with her at our Vassar Class of 1969 70th birthday party and to share a number of conversations with her. May her memory be eternal. Our class will not be whole without her.
