Mrs. Phylis Rebecca White, affectionately known as “Dader”, the beloved daughter of the late Mr. Rufus and Mrs. Mary Brown, was born on May 6, 1922 in Pineville, SC. On December 19, 2022, Phylis stepped from the Life Care Center, Charleston, SC into her heavenly home.


Phylis graduated from Redeemer School, which went through the eight grade in those days. Her teacher said, she was ready for college from there.


Since birth, her parents took Phylis and her siblings to church. Church was the pillar of the family. Phylis was a dedicated, active and faithful member of The Church of the Redeemer, in Pineville, SC.


Phylis was united in holy matrimony to Lawrence White on February 28, 1941. This glorious union of 58 years was blessed of God and filled with love and joy.


She was preceded in eternal rest by her husband, Lawrence White, granddaughter, Sheryl W. Green, great-grandson, Malik D. White, and great-great grandson, Xhadrian J. Rogers.


Phylis leaves behind to cherish a lifetime of precious memories: her daughter, Delores (Mack Jr.) Ravenell; grandchildren, Larry (Christine) White, Saundra R. (Michael) Mitchell, Mack D. (Natisha) Ravenell III, Jason Ravenell and Mia Collier (honorary granddaughter); grandson-in-law, Freddie Green; great-grandchildren, Turue D. Rogers, Deondra S. Rogers, Christian O. White, Cortney A. White, Robert C. Tucker, Rebecca I. Tucker, Quintin R. L. Tucker, Mack K. Ravenell, William K. Ravenell and Jason Ravenell Jr.; great-great granddaughter, Dasani Brown; a beloved sister, Mrs. Albertha Theirse whom she loved dearly; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.


Viewing will be held Thursday, December 22, 2022, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Gethers St. Stephen Chapel. Funeral Service will be held Friday, December 23, 2022, 12:00 p.m., at the Church of the Redeemer, 2677 Highway 45, Pineville, SC. Face masks are required at the viewing and the service. Interment will be in Mexico Cemetery, Pineville, SC.
