Aunt Phyllis, you are truly missed, already. There are so many memories that bring a smile to my face. Right now I am smiling and crying. I know you are in a better place but the selfish side of me wants you here and around family.
I know you are looking down on us and smiling. God and the family will be here for Niecy, Britney, and Joardin. I am glad for the time that God shared you with us but he wanted you more.

I love you.

Phyllis was such a joyous Spirit. She had a heart of laughter and her smile was electric. All she had to say to me was “Girlllll” and we would giggle the silliness of work away. I count her a blessing and a flower in my life and thank God for the goodness, kindness, and knowledge she shared while I was at the Renton site. My prayers are with her family during this time of loss.

To the Carter Family,Denise and her Girls. My child hood friend Phyllis will always be in my heart, the smile she always had the words of encouragement she gave me when she accepted the lord. My sister Viola and I and Phyllis would meet on the corner of 12th and Grand and talk for hours about everything from boys to what are we going to wear the next day to school. You ran the track at HB like no one else could, Phyllis remember the all girls singing group at Mac Hi! Im so proud to be able to call you Reverend Phyllis Marie Carter. We will see you again

Denise, Britney and Joardan
I love you all. Mama Phyllis was a sweet, loving, wonderful person. I praise God for allowing me to be a part of her life. She took me in without hesitation. Denise she always said you and I got along like we were blood sisters:) Know that she is in a better place and wouldn't come back even if she had the opportunity to do so. God is there for you all. Trust him, lean on him and let him be your strength. He will be there for you. Mom is truly happy now. She finished the race and the work that God needed her to do. Now we have to live so we can catch that heaven bound train and hear our Lord say well done.
Love you
Joyce (sister-aunt-godmommy)

Phyllis, I know God had other plans for you, but I truely miss our phone calls already. Even though we had to keep calling 2 or 3 times before we connected, but I'm so glad both of us were persistent. I am equally glad our families were able to spend some time together during the holidays. I love you and that makes me feel good because I know you loved us too. Stanley is back. Our loving God did that. It's part of his plan not ours. Love you, your big sis Beverlee

January 30, 2012

Phyllis, I really miss you. Even though we lived thousands of miles away from each other, we were close. I could feel the love and laughter in your voice when ever we talk. I will miss our conversations we had about our churches, and your advise you would give me. You were more than a sister, you were my friend. I love you.

January 25, 2012

To all of your family and friends, I would also like to convey my condolences.
I went to school with Phyllis at Mac Jr. High and HBHS. She sat behind me in homeroom and math class at Mac. and was always harassing me...i loved it. She called me "Duke" and I got in trouble more than once for her talking during class. She was a beautiful person on the outside and even more beautiful on the inside. I haven't seen Phyllis in a lot of years but she was always very special and I loved her. I will miss that awesome smile and wonderful attitude and her laugh. Rest in Peace my friend.

I am so sorry to learn of Phyllis's early death. In my mind, she is always strong and beautiful. I too ran track with Phyllis at Hudson's Bay and it was always a joy to watch her beautiful form as she came flying around that turn. I never think of HB Track without thinking of her. Know that she does live on in our hearts and minds. I have not seen Phyllis for almost 50 years, but still she is young and forever smiling for me. You have my sympathy in your loss.
Sincerely, Ann Hathaway

The one thing I will remember about Phyllis is the Hudson's Bay track and field team. Phyllis ran the 200 meter better than anyone I know. When she would hit the curve, no matter where you were on the field, you would stop to watch. Picture a gazelle, it was a beautiful thing to witness. Phyllis is now on God's track team now, what a great place to be. To her family take comfort in knowing Phyllis was loved by many and will be missed. God Bless,
