Just learned of her passing. She was always a light of encouragement. Not surprised that the Lord let her continue to bless so many for so long. Yet 100 years doesn't seem like enough time when an angel returns home. May she continue to watch over all her loved ones always. God bless you.

Mrs De La Vergne, you were undoubtedly my favorite teacher of the four yrs at EHS, your contagious smile I see in front of me, that whistle hanging about your neck, but your finding time to listen to my silly problems and always with a swift solution...you made certain I would no longer try squeezing myself into the locker because of my 'shy' issue and another we'll keep between us! Your vibrant personality has been missed by me since 1966...you were always that 'one in two million '.....I...

I remember her as if it was yesterday. She always had a smile on her face. I lived next door to her when I was in high school. One day while I was walking to school from Bay Street she offered me a ride and I said no thank you I will walk. She put a big smile on her face and said that a girl.

I so remember my Physical Education teacher Phyllis De La Vergne a mentor in all the sports I enjoyed especially tennis! My condolences to her family may she rest in peace.
