DRURY, Phyllis Ruth - Of Flint, age 77, died Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Genesys Hospice in Goodrich. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, December 24, 2009 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Doug Klein officiating. Burial in Glenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Easter Seals Society of Genesee County. Visitation 9 a.m. Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Phyllis was born in Flint on October 27, 1932, and was a resident of the Flint area all of her life. Surviving are aunts, Jeanne (Earl) Hall, Madeline (Roy) Swift, and Rita Garbulinski, all of Flint; many cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Drury, mother Jayne Garbulinski, step-father Steve Garbulinski, aunt Margaret Blain, and uncles Charles Blain and Ralph Crane. Through the years, much to my regret, I lost track of her and often thought of the many fun times we had at your Mom and Dad's house on Franklin Avenue as well as at my Grandparent's house on Maplewood. Your niece was a wonderful childhood pal of mine and I have many happy memories. I still have a picture...

I send my condolences to the Crane sisters, Janie and the rest of the
family. Phyllis was well loved. Phyllis,her mother Jayne and step-father Steve had a lot of fun while they spent the winters in Tarpon Springs. Phyllis loved to be there and so did we. I shall miss her. I will always keep her in my prayers. The Garbulinski family were my
best friends in Florida. This is a sad time.
