Phyllis Ruth (Sledd) Headley, 94, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, just one week before her 95th birthday. She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert H. Headley and son, David Wayne Headley. She was also predeceased by her sisters and brother and their spouses, including Frances Ford (Oscar), Anne Traylor (Charlie), and Barbara Osborne (James) and Frank M. Sledd, Jr. (Shirley). She is survived by several nieces and nephews and their families. Her niece Diana would like to extend a special thank you to all the caregivers and staff at The Harmony Collection at Hanover and A Touch of Grace Hospice for their compassionate care, including a very special thanks to Samantha (Sam), Nene, Melissa, Tammy, Donna B., Judy and her beloved Danielle (Darnell).
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday, September 15, 2025, at Woody Funeral Home at 1717 N. Parham Road, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel. Interment will follow at Westhampton Memorial Park.
